"Ohanaeze Ndigbo urges incoming Tinubu administration to transform Southeast into 'Dubai' of West Africa"

Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged the incoming administration of Southeast Nigeria, with the support of President-elect Bola Tinubu, to transform the region into Dubai of Africa

The incoming administration of Southeast Nigeria has been urged by Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, to transform the region into the "Dubai" of West Africa with the support of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. The call was made in response to a proposal by Southwest states to launch a regional railway line and electricity projects. Ohanaeze's Secretary-General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, specifically urged Tinubu's administration and those of the incoming governors to establish rail lines across Owerri, Onitsha, Awka, and Abakaliki.

Isiguzoro emphasized that Ohanaeze is taking the lead in ensuring that a rail connection is established from the commercial nerve centre of the Southeast, Aba, to Owerri and Onitsha, where there is a dry seaport. He also challenged the new governors to ensure that 80% of these regional railway lines and electricity are achieved by January 2024.

Furthermore, Isiguzoro commended the Abia State Governor for building a geometric power plant in Aba, which has been providing electricity for SMEs and lighting up the city and its environs. He also commended the Ebonyi State governor for the International Airport, which would create employment and business opportunities for the people of the state.

Isiguzoro urged the incoming administration of Southeast governors to manage these industrial revolutions, such as the regional railway and electricity designed by Ohanaeze, properly, to transform the Southeast into Dubai and the center of attraction of West Africa. He noted that Tinubu's support is critical for achieving this agenda.

Finally, Isiguzoro urged the people of Southeastern Nigeria to form alliances with the moving train and end the mentality of marginalization, which has turned the region into a horrible place. He stressed the need for a productive mentality and stopping the spirit of antagonism.
