 The Supreme Court has dismissed Emmanuel Bwacha, the All Progressives Congress (APC) nominee for governor of Taraba state in the 2023 election.

On Wednesday, February 1, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Eku presided over a five-judge panel that maintained the federal high court's decision that the ruling party had no legitimate primary in Taraba.

 On September 20, a federal high court in Jalingo, the state capital, removed Bwacha as the APC's candidate.

In Abuja, a federal high court dismissed him and ordered the APC to hold new governorship primary elections. By an appeals court in Yola, the capital of the state of Adamawa, he was reinstated as the APC's candidate for governor.

 David Sabo Kente, one of the APC candidates, has contested the ruling of the appeals court designating Bwacha as the legitimate APC candidate in the state for the 2023 governorship election.
